How To Do Truck Advertising Right

By Rebecca Stevens

Numbers never lie. Studies have shown that rolling billboards will bring in more sales. The same studies have shown that the beholders remember the particulars of the ad days later. This is great news for truck advertising. This is a creative avenue through which companies can get their products out to the masses. Most people spend a lot more time in traffic than at home watching TV. Why not follow the market on their way home and to meetings?

Own no truck? Worry not, because there are companies that will take care of that problem. Some that will hire pout their delivery vehicles for that purpose and others that will provide the vehicle and ideas. The first ideas could be the use of vinyl sheeting. This is spread across the body of the vehicle much like a billboard. The other idea is to just paint on the body itself. One could also go for a more technologically advanced option. Use of an LED screen allows one to load the ad via USB connection.

The juggernaut can stay stationary. It is advisable to have it follow a strategically mapped out route though. The route constitutes areas with the most potential for a good market. The route can include a high traffic area during rush hour. The potential customers can feast on the ad while they patiently suffer the traffic.

An eye-catching ad that is interesting to look at is what you need. It must also convey a message at the same time. This being a transit ad makes it harder to convey a message as the timeline is shrunk. The ad will have a few seconds to ingrain itself into the mind of the beholder. The design needs to be as simple as can be. There must be as little wording as possible. Who has time to read an essay while driving anyway?

The colors used must be synonymous with the company or the product. For example, when one sees red and white and a soda bottle, they think coca cola. Enough said. The images used must also be relevant. The image on mentioned coca cola ad could be that of a sweaty person enjoying a cold drink. In this case, these two aspects could be enough to carry the message.

If one is hiring the vehicle, they must choose a reliable service. A company that will not go back on their word. A company that values the client and respects the terms of engagement. They must be professional and experienced in branding and advertising.

The budget for the campaign must be adhered to. A company does not go into business merely to pay for advertising. One must ensure the options chosen do not cost more than is stipulated. Free quotes must be obtained before committing to a particular company.

If the driver of said juggernaut cuts off other motorists and is rude, the product will get the wrong kind of attention. They will equate the product to rudeness and careless driving. This would be detrimental to the future of the product. One must therefore keep an eye on reviews for the company engaged.
