The Similarities Between Game Design And Web Design New York

By Arthur Williams

Saying that game and web design New York projects are different is almost a given. However, you might not know that they are actually quite similar to one another, which you will come to learn in time. There's no denying the fact that they are entirely different forms of media, developed in order to attain particular goals. However, when it comes to the common traits between the two, here are a few that should not go overlooked.

For those who do not know - and companies such as Avatar New York can tell you about this - modern web design is mainly focused on simplicity. The websites that are built, in this day and age, are meant to present information as clearly as possible. This is where the aforementioned simplicity comes into play. However, there is much more that should be learned by those who specialize in New York web design.

Game design is similar in the sense that it should keep things easy to understand, too. This can be something of a challenge, especially with the advanced technology that we enjoy today, but it can still be done. In-game tutorials are commonplace these days, as they're meant to ease players into the games and help them understand how everything functions. Much like in web design, the simplicity in game design is welcoming.

User engagement is perhaps a more prominent aspect that game and web design share. When playing a video game, you want to be engrossed in what you're seeing, since this is what pushes you to continue playing through to the end. The aforementioned user engagement is prevalent in web design, too. Without calls to action or other features that encourage visitors, chances are that they won't maximize their visits. To say that this feature matters would be a tremendous understatement.

Despite their undeniable differences, websites and video games are actually similar in a number of ways. Yes, they are built differently and meant for different purposes, so it's not like they are interchangeable. However, certain aspects of the design process for each seem to carry over. They are also meant to engage people so that different results can be created. Video games and websites are different, but not nearly as separate as many people think.
