How To Be A Smart "poor College Student"

By Hedrick Lepsch

Once, on a cold winter morning, a professor walking into his website design education class and asked his students what they were doing there. They stared at him blankly. He stared back.

These individuals are finding that they can achieve their career goals with an associate's degree and, obviously, that they can complete their schooling faster and with less costs if they will reenter the workforce upon completion of their associate's degree.

The professor offered only one question: "Why are you here?" Everyone would get full participation points, and the student with the cleverest answer would get five extra points. The winning answer? Here it is:

Pay Your Bills

Herein lays the answer to why going to class and taking good notes is important: it will save your life. Perhaps not literally, but it's a nice sentiment. If you need note-taking tips, here are a few that should help you out.

One of the first fields that individuals can find good success in with an associate's degree is the field of nursing and other medical specialties. The two year associates degree in nursing or in another medical specialty can instantly open doors for careers in hospitals, care facilities, and medical labs for those who would be interested in that career path.

Write as much as you can. Especially at the beginning of a semester, you never know what your teacher thinks is important or not. So write as much as you can down without falling behind. You have enough common sense to recognize the main points, but don't underestimate tangents your professor goes off on. They could show up on your next quiz.

Similar to information technology and other technology degrees in terms of demand and flexibility is the degree of accounting. In the same way that nearly all businesses and organizations need an IT professional, they likewise are all in need of certified accountants to maintain their finances as well as serve in other capacities.

Copy the board. If your teacher goes to the effort to write something on the board you want it. A modern trick to capture that information fast is to take a picture with your phone. Boom.

If you want to be considered a smart college student while pursuing your graphic arts degree or web design and development degree follow these steps. You will not only be able to save money but you will be able to apply valuable budgeting skills that will allow you to use your money more wisely in the future as well.
