Tips For Hotel Video Production And Internet Marketing Success

By Angela Allen

It is more important than ever for businesses to have an aggressive internet presence. Without it, many people will not even know you exist. If your website is dated or difficult to navigate, viewers will leave and not come back. Advertising and marketing can be expensive and confusing to owners contemplating their hotel video production for the first time. Many are unsure whether or not they are making the right choices and don't really know how to gauge the success or failure of the site.

There are huge chain hotels that have massive marketing budgets and can afford beautiful and impressive websites attempting to entice guests to visit their accommodations. Not everyone is interested in staying in these properties however, and many are more inclined to book accommodations in a small, more unique hotel or inn. If you are the owner or manager of such an establishment, you can compete with the chains if you focus on who your prospective customers are and what they are looking for.

As you begin your marketing strategy, you and your team need to think long and hard about what kind of image you want the public to have of you. You need to decide on a target market and center your advertising around them. Your business might cater to young adults with children or single adults who expect upscale accommodations for instance.

Maybe you want to expand your customer base or your brand. You may want to keep in touch with guests who have enjoyed your accommodations in the past. You will have to decide what your target is and make certain everyone on your team is focused on just those goals. Anything that doesn't further your message, no matter how original or interesting it may be, should be avoided.

It might be a good idea to tie your business in with attractions that bring tourists to the area. You can do that on your own site or arrange with local government agencies and tourist bureaus to add your links and ads to their websites. If you reciprocate, all of you will benefit by the added exposure.

Once you get someone to your site, you will only have a few seconds to draw them in. If you fail to do this, they will click off your site and probably not be back. Your graphics must be professional, interesting and interactive. Potential guests will want to know what the accommodations look like, and you can provide this information with a good virtual tour. Be sure to include visitors enjoying themselves in your video.

A lot of businesses have busy seasons and off seasons. You can advertise special packages to encourage potential guests to visit when your hotel is not usually full. You might offer price reductions, coupons, discounted tickets to attractions, or special pricing for larger suites.

As a savvy marketer you want to catch your viewer's attention with more than just facts. You need to draw them in and get them enthusiastic about spending time at your hotel.
