Ways To Avoid Distraction While Studying

By Franklin Skribbit

Everyone has their 'niche', the place that they belong, and that they are best at. You may have found your niche but where do you go from there. Graphic design is many people's niche but trying to get into a career can be confusing and difficult. Knowing the best entry level jobs, who should you know, and what should you do all leads into one confusing mess. Below are some of the top tips on how to prepare for your career in graphic design.

Size Matters - In 2011, just five percent of the American population owned any kind of tablet. Today, just three years later, that number has increased drastically and the now heavy use of tablets is influencing the way businesses are designing their websites. Because tablets are touch screen, the bigger the better. If you plan on having anyone access your website and click on links on that website, you are going to want those links to be large and visually appealing. This focuses the attention of visitors to the site and attracts them more easily to what they are looking for.

Your university is not going to go out of their way to accommodate you. They will expect that you have been in school for long enough that you have figured out how you learn. Some newer schools have changed the way they do business to have a more individualized approach. This approach doesn't apply to all schools, so you should look for it if that's something you feel like you need. Your success in your university is up to you.

Icons - The uprising of the tablet has led to the universal transition from preferring to read text to wanting to see visually pleasing pictures and icons. When tablets were first created, many businesses realized that they would have to adapt their websites for tablets by incorporating more pictures and easily recognizable icons. However, this has now become popular on websites accessed through normal monitors and laptops as well. Those pursuing an education in web design are now learning how to create icons that are both simple and informative for any type of website.

Looking at How Far You Have Come - The work that you put into changing your study environment to eliminate distraction has to come with some exceptions. You can't look at every element of your study environment as being a distraction, even if a lot of people see them that way. Some people are able to take things that people consider distractions as use them as a means to increase their concentration.

The bottom line The best things to do are for you to get a graphic design education and network. Build friends in the industry and your opportunities will start to flourish as people get to know that you are a serious graphic artist.
