Reasons For Police Car Partition

By Leticia Jensen

The officers are always there to provide security and ensure that there is peace in different parts of their states or countries. For their smooth operation they need cars which in most cases have the word police written on it. These vehicles are owned by the different headquarters. Initially they used to own just the normal type of vehicles but currently there are special vehicles with partitions. The police car partition was introduced to make their work more effective.

The process of subdividing the cars is dependent on the use of the vehicles and the department from which it operates from. This is because there are some departments such are the patrol which require few sections while other departments require more sections as a result of their equipment as well as the number of parties that will use the vehicle.

In some occasions they are accompanied by their dogs whenever they are carrying out their missions. This is a reason calling for an extra section in the car in addition to the drivers and the passenger compartment. Absence of the police dog section means that whenever there is an operation involving the dogs, an extra vehicle will be required.

The subdivision is required in most cases where their dogs are part of the mission undertaken by police. The dogs are assets and need to be protected. They are mostly kept in their cages that are a different compartment from the officers. The reason is their security as well as to avoid accidents to the officers.

One vehicle having different sections means that there must be a material or substance separating them of which in most cases glass and steel are used. Steel bars are used to separate some sections like between the passengers and the dog cages because the dogs do not raise serious alarm. The drivers who in most cases happen to be officers on duty need safety and that is why their compartments are separated with bulletproof glass.

It has been incorporate and implemented in most countries and is proving to be a life saver not only to the officers themselves but also to the common citizens. It increases the willingness of some officers to the call of duty given that their security is improved.

The only challenge is that some units will tend to have few vehicles because they do not see the benefit of acquiring more. This is a disadvantage because in case of crisis there will be shortage of transport facilities and they will be forced to outsource those that have the normal sections and the costs will be high as well.

The subdivision of these vehicles is very beneficial because in the early years there was need for more than one vehicle in any operation. The different vehicles were there to serve various purposes which at the moment are solved through partitioning of one car. The challenge has been resolved through innovation and creativity of some companies which introduced the idea.
