If an owner is reluctant to sell the item, you may have to raise its value to convince him. A rarer item is also more expensive.

A word of caution, though. You must always remain vigilant. Aside from the dealer's credibility, you must verify the item's authenticity.

While the experienced collectors can easily distinguishing genuine and counterfeit vintage advertising signs, beginners may need to work on it. It helps when one pays attention to the minutest details. There are helpful indicants, such as the materials used, uneven rusting and fading, and hand lettering, you should look out for. This investment is not a joke, so you should remain careful and prudent where to spend your money.
