In athletics there are very many people from the black American society who have managed to build successful careers in different sports like basketball, football and even athletics. When the selection of the team players is being carried out, people are picked based on their talents. It is not probable to practice discrimination in such a situation because if a person from the favored race does not understand how to play one cannot force them. The trainers have to be honest since in the end it is their teams that will look bad. This is the reason why many sports teams include a variety of individuals from different races.
However, in spite of this view, people continue to have different opinions on this matter. Some people still believe that to some extent there is still some form of racism in athletics. Some people feel that the black American players are not being included in these jobs as professional coaches. Many also feel like the most important positions in many games are mainly offered to the white people.
A certain research was done a few years back and the findings stated that most of the sporting games like football and athletics are dominated by black players yet when it comes to management, the white people dominate them. The average number of African Americans who may be willing to work in management positions is very high yet they are not being hired.
For someone to properly manage a team, they have to have a lot of skill and experience in this game so that they can easily understand everything that is happening. If people were fair, it is the black people who would have held more seats in the managements since they have better understanding of the games they play.
It is clear that very many white managers and players are still having a very hard time accepting the African people and they show it openly. For example, there is a team manager who was recently heard on tape telling his girlfriend that she must stop posting pictures with African American men especially in her social media pages.
Many people have kept quiet about their feelings towards the colored people just because of the consequences they would face after making their remarks but the truth is people have not fully accepted that all people are equal. This is why many people unknowingly make remarks that show their racist sides even without them knowing.

This situation has improved so greatly that the first African American president was voted by the people of US of America.
