Contemporary Beeswax Candle Designs Give Life To Any Space

By Lisa Mitchell

One reason why most people love the winter holidays is the lights. Although there is one day in summer where fireworks are common, indoor lights that relate to home are something different. Some people like to have candles going while sitting at the dinner table or cover their home with powered lights as a celebration of good cheer. However, lights can also make a nice gift, like contemporary beeswax candle designs that can be enjoyed all year.

Using functional artwork is one of the best ways to add a decorative touch and in some ways, it can make cleaning easier. A dark colored area rug with bright accents or trim can disguise most dirt or stains. Fancy bowls with a lid can be a nice place to hide keys or small items that get lost frequently.

One good thing about candles is they are not just practical but inexpensive. Even those that are priced slightly higher tends to burn a lot slower than the cheap versions that may go out in a couple of hours. These can also be placed anywhere like in a wall sconce or a flat surface.

One alternative would be to read by candlelight instead of a device. Large votive candles placed inside a clear holder might be a decent source of light. If natural sunlight is not available, a soft white bulb can provide enough natural light without being harsh.

If a person is not into wall decor, just choosing the right candle designs can add a nice touch to any room or space. Large pillars with one or three wicks look great on any bare coffee table. Other designs worth considering are the ball, cube, or spiral octagon. There are also many novelty shapes that may work for those who are a child at heart.

Although meal time means a different thing to various families, some find a quiet dinner at home with minimal lighting can make a peaceful setting. It is during these moments when families and friends gather to give thanks and say hello to a new year. In some senses, the lit candle may represent something positive.

These can also be good for those who like to go out caroling in the night. This is one of those old time traditions that some families keep close to their heart. Even though this is not as common as it was years ago, there are some individuals who always want to spread cheer to others and teach their kids to do the same.

For those who may like wall sconces or holders but do not care to make holes in a wall, there are some alternatives. There are some small shelves that can be installed quickly with minimal damage. Another solution would be to use removable adhesive products that leave no marks on a wall.

Before using any of these, it helps to look at the holder weight and compare it to each holding method. Renters who are inexperienced may want to consult with their landlord. If they hesitate, one good argument is that using a candle will cut back on electricity usage.
