Some Facts About Silicone Bracelets

By Roger Edwards

Gatherings for a cause are made more fun these days. It is not just about the awareness you can acquire from attending, but also the opportunity to share that cause to the people outside. And sharing information, along with the fun, has been a lot easier now. The Internet has nothing to do with it, but fashion does. Like a proposed campaign, this object received criticism from the time it was first sent out, until the present. Despite this, it still made its way to reach popularity and become something people want to talk about.

There are a million ways to make your outfit hip and significant at the same time. The most popular and convenient idea has been existing for more than a decade now and you might not have noticed it. Perhaps, you have heard of silicone bracelets, or better known as baller bands.

Wearing arm accessories has been very popular ever since time began. From the colonial era up to the present day, it is something in the accessory department that will never go out of stock and out of style. Traditional bangles and arm candies, however, are not the only ones qualified for showing off.

The LIVESTRONG campaign was what drove these rubber armbands to the shore. It was spearheaded by Lance Armstrong for his advocacy on cancer awareness and research, under the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The events that followed were just overwhelming. The bracelets were now in almost every campaign and advocacy movement.

Online searches show about 1,750,000 results on businesses engaged into selling this kind of merchandise. A large number of these shops offer customization services. There are also some who are open to resellers and give discounts to bulk buyers.

Before the popularity of these bands came about, ribbons of different colors were often used for awareness programs and other similar gatherings during the 19th century. Every color would signify a certain meaning, and these ribbons were usually pinned on shirts, tarpaulins, even posters.

When this armband innovation was introduced, it elicited so much positive feedback that even big and traditional companies decided to give it a try. The music industry is not even an exception. Numerous concerts and album launches had these blings for freebies or for sale.

Now, this highly used object is on its way to the mobile gadget industry, too. Universal phone bumpers are now taking the form of these rubberized bracelets. It is universal because it can fit any size of any mobile phone, may it be extra small to iPhone 6 Plus size. Girly girl vlogs also feature these things being used as ponytail holders.

Years back, accessories were just used for the sake of it. But as they say, people are now slowly evolving to create innovative ways to make our existence as purposeful as possible. Being fashionable does not only mean looking good in outfit. It is also doing things that could bring out positive change and help other people become better. The use of bracelets has never been this human. Make the most out of it while you still can.
